Today, students took a tasty journey while learning about the lifecycle of a rock. The cycle begins with bits of sediment being pressed together to form a rock. This is called a sedimentary rock. The next cycle occurs when moderate heat and pressure are introduced. This is called a metamorphic rock. The final cycle occurs when extreme heat and pressure are introduced (such as from a volcano). This is call an igneous rock. Students really loved being able to eat the final product :)
